ITALY – Several months ago, the Italy City Council unanimously voted to terminate the city’s Police Chief, Scott McAuley.
No interim was named to replace McAuley at that time.
Recently the city has named Chad Nelson, an investigator with the Italy Police Department, to act as Interim Chief during the city’s replacement search.
According to Italy’s City Administrator Keith Whitfield, it is still undecided if a firm is going to be used to help with the police chief search.
Whitfield said he is in the process of going through applications, but the search will not fully begin until January.
