ALMA

Alma’s Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting a Fill the Boot for Toys for Tots drive with every dollar donated going directly to help children in Ellis County have a brighter holiday season. The event will be Saturday, Dec. 6 from 8 a.m. to noon at I-45 & FM 1183 in Alma.


BARDWELL

At the last Bardwell City Council meeting, an ordinance was discussed for liens being placed against real property of utility customers with delinquent utility bills as well as selecting a collection agency.


ENNIS

The Ennis Library congratulated resident, Ms. Booher last week with a Happy 100th birthday message. As the library’s oldest patron she said never stop reading.


FERRIS

Ferris will host an adult fall craft event on Nov. 24 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Ferris Public Library, 301 E. 10th Street.


GARRETT

Garrett is canceling its Christmas in the Park event this year due to multiple other cities scheduling events on the same day and not enough vendor interest.

The event was scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6 at Garrett City Park. Those who paid for a vendor spot will be refunded.


GLENN HEIGHTS

Due to an overwhelming number of applicants for the Season of Service program in Glenn Heights, the applications have reached capacity and no further applications can be accepted.

MAYPEARL

Maypearl will have its Toys for Tots toy drive now through Dec. 1st. You can bring new, unwrapped toys to City Hall at 104 E Second Street.


MIDLOTHIAN

Midlothian’s Parks & Recreation announces the city’s annual Christmas Celebration with festivities and a Light-up parade on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 1 to 8 p.m. at 215 N. 8th Street. The festival begins at 1 p.m., followed by the Light-up Parade themed Christmas Movie Magic. Expect selfies with Santa, crafts, letters to Santa, and entertainment.


MILFORD

Milford has partnered with Nexbill Pay to launch a new online payment portal with enhanced features, including online payments, auto payments, text to pay directly from your phone, account access to view balance, payment history, and more and Milford customers will also have the option to pay their bills by phone calling: (866) 583-0823.

OAK LEAF

The next Oak Leaf City Council meeting will be Dec. 9, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

 

OVILLA

The City of Ovilla invites everyone to join for its annual Christmas in the Park celebration on Thursday, December 4 at 6 p.m. at Heritage Park. The special evening will bring together the community to celebrate the joy of the season, meet neighbors, visit with elected leaders, members of the Ovilla Service League, and city staff members including police, fire, and EMS. There will be music, a tree lighting ceremony, pictures with Santa, refreshments provided by the Ovilla Service League, and more.


PALMER

The Palmer Holly Jolly Christmas Bash will be held in downtown Palmer at Jefferson Street and Main Street on Dec. 6. The festival will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. with Santa pictures, bounce houses, face painting and hot chocolate. The light parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the tree lighting at 7 p.m.

PECAN HILL

Pecan Hill October City Council meeting was canceled for lack of agenda items. No word on if this will be the case in Nov. as well.


RED OAK

Kick of the holiday season in Red Oak on Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to noon at Watkins Park. The festivities begin with the holiday parade, as well as live entertainment, and free photos with Santa. Warm up with s’mores and hot chocolate, shop unique vendors, make your own wreath, and soak up all the holiday magic with friends and family.


WAXAHACHIE

Dunkin’ Donuts, located at 2110 N US Hwy 77, Suite 130, is officially open.
