Waxahachie beats Waco Midway 48-16, will play North Forney next

HEWITT –  Sophomore running back Taylen Furlough-Strange rushed for 175 yards and two touchdowns, leading Waxahachie to a dominating victory over Waco Midway.

Waxahachie (10-1) rushed 42 times for 389 yards and racked up 494 total yards and 21 first downs.

Midway (9-2) was held 30.2 points below its regular season scoring average and was outgained on the ground by exactly 300 yards.

Senior Kohen Brown rushed 74 yards untouched around the left end on Waxahachie’s second play from scrimmage to score the game’s first touchdown.

Waxahachie led 20-3 at the half.

Waxahachie will play North Forney next on Friday, Nov. 21 at Arlington’s Choctaw Stadium. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
