FERRIS – Superintendent of Ferris ISD Hector Madrigal released a statement Thursday morning regarding the arrest of part-time Ferris High School welding teacher George Russell Mcallister, 61 from Waxahachie

Madrigal said in his statement, “We want to make you aware that one of our employees was arrested by law enforcement for alleged criminal conduct for possession of child pornography.”

Madrigal said upon learning of the arrest, Mcallister was terminated immediately.

Mcallister has been employed by the district since 2020 according to his LinkedIn page. He has held a teaching certificate since 1992.

Madrigal also stated, “The arresting agency informed us this does not involve any students associated with Ferris ISD.”

Mcallister was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography, a third-degree felony on November 5. 

His bond has been set at $100,000.
