PALMER – If Whitesboro wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Palmer, they should've done a better job of containing Bulldog quarterback Eric Cisneros.

The Bulldogs enjoyed a cozy 46-28 victory over the Bearcats on Friday with plenty of help from Cisneros, who rushed for 172 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry, and also threw for 225 yards and one TD while completing 80% of his passes.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Palmer’s defense and their four sacks. Leading the way was defensive end Cole Spurlock with two. Palmer received some extra help from Blake Keimig, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Whitesboro’s loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Wyatt Winchester, who picked up 83 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Another signal caller making a difference was Colt Fagan, who threw for 190 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.

Palmer’s win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Whitesboro, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3.

Palmer is set to face off against Life Oak Cliff at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23. Whitesboro will square off against rival A Plus Academy, also at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
