ELLIS COUNTY – The Ellis County Sheriff’s Department released the results of an investigation beginning with an aggravated robbery Monday evening on Sept, 22 at a gas station outside the city limits of Midlothian.
Two suspects from the robbery were identified as adult males and were later linked to additional aggravated robberies in both Midlothian and Duncanville.
On Thursday, Sept. 25, another aggravated robbery occurred at a gas station within the city limits of Midlothian.
Investigators there determined two of the three suspects involved in that robbery were the same individuals as those connected to the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office offense.
A third aggravated robbery occurred on Friday, Sept. 26 at a gas station in Duncanville.
Investigators from the Ellis County Sheriff’s Department, Duncanville Police Department and the Midlothian Police Department worked together identifying and successfully locating the suspects.
On Friday, Sept. 26, Duncanville SWAT executed an arrest and search warrant at a residence in Duncanville, taking Derek George-Michael Coy into custody.
Midlothian Police arrested the remaining two robbery suspects, Damijay Rashun Hubbard and Qymarion Lynn Bailey.
All were arrested and are housed at the Wayne McCollum Detention Center in Waxahachie.
A media release from the Ellis County Sheriff’s Department stated, “I want to take a moment to recognize the exceptional work and cooperation between the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office, the Midlothian Police Department, and the Duncanville Police Department in the successful identification and arrest of multiple suspects involved in a series of aggravated robberies that occurred across two counties.”
