OVILLA – A date for the public memorial ceremony for Ovilla Baby Jane Doe has been set for Oct. 10 at 2 p.m.
Services will be held at Green Funeral Home, 105 Vintage Drive in Red Oak.
Baby Jane Doe was found in an Ovilla dump truck by a sanitation worker in November 2024.
Her identity remains unknown.
A press release from Ellis County Judge John Wray’s office stated, “After months of care and preparation, she [Baby Jane Doe] will finally be given the honor of a proper memorial surrounded by love and compassion.
“Though her identity remains unknown, Baby Jane Doe has touched the hearts of many. This service is an opportunity for the community to stand together, to remember her brief life, and to affirm that every child deserves to be honored.”
Following the public memorial ceremony, Baby Jane Doe will be laid to rest in a private burial.
In honor of her memory, in lieu of flowers, the community is encouraged to donate to their favorite children’s advocacy charity.
