Vickie Ratliff to give painting demonstration July 7

WAXAHACHIE – Vickie Ratliff, an award-winning contemporary realist painter from Midlothian, will give a demonstration at the monthly meeting of The Ellis County Art Association, July 7 at First Baptist Church of Waxahachie (450 US287 BYP). The public is encouraged to attend.

Ratliff began her career in art when she wanted a stained glass window in her new home and decided to make it herself. 

As a way to start thinking out of the box, she took up oil painting.  

She was drawn to painting portraits and animals because of the variety of techniques that are necessary to create the exact likeness of the subject while injecting personality through a myriad of expressions and backgrounds. 

The meeting at FBC is open to everyone and begins at 6 p.m. with refreshments and socializing. Announcements and business will start at 6:30 and the Demo will begin at 6:45 p.m. It is free to attend and the public is invited.
