WILMER – On Thursday, March 20, Mayor Pro Tem Nelon, City Council, and City Staff gathered to present Mayor Sheila Petta with a proclamation honoring the life of her beloved husband, Frank Deanie Petta (July 30, 1944 – March 4, 2025).
Frank was a cornerstone of the Wilmer community – a dedicated public servant, the city's first paid patrol officer, and later its Chief of Police. Beyond his service in law enforcement, he was known as an incredible fenceman, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a friend to many.
Frank’s legacy is woven deeply into the fabric of Wilmer, a city he called home since 1969 and loved wholeheartedly. His kindness, hard work, and commitment to both his family and community will never be forgotten.
