The Ellis County United Special Olympics powerlifting team travelled to Bee Cave, Texas for the Texas Winter Games this past Feb. 14-15.
Nine athletes competed for gold among a field of 147 from across the state. They competed in the three-lift competition which includes the squat, bench press and deadlift.
An enthusiastic crowd cheered on the lifters who competed on 4 different platforms set up across the gymnasium at Bee Cave Middle School.
Ellis County United brought home (17) Gold Medals, (8) Silver, (2) Bronze, and a 4th and 5th Place ribbon.
