RED OAK – Red Oak Police Department Chief Garland Wolf presented four officers with a numbered chief coin at a May City Council meeting to acknowledge the recent clearing of 12 robberies committed in Red Oak, Cedar Hill and Dallas.

Wolf recognized the officers for “exemplifying professionalism and strong teamwork within our Red Oak Police Department.”

On April 16, a double robbery occurred in Red Oak, one at the CVS and another at Exxon Tiger Mart.

Officers Sergeant Andy Trim, Investigator Steven Nelson, K9 Officer Matthew Pettit, and Officer Jalen Merrick worked as a team, were able to respond, investigate, positively identify the suspect, find, and take the suspect into custody.
At the CVS robbery Chief Wolf said officers responded in eight seconds after the suspect had left the store. The suspect had entered the store, acted as if he had a weapon, robbed the store, and left the scene.

That evening the same suspect robbed the Exxon Tiger Mart and police arrived in one minute according to Chief Wolf.

The suspect was detained in a neighboring city that same evening by RO police.

“This type of teamwork is not uncommon in the police department,” said Wolfe.
