FERRIS – Apparently you can still find hidden treasurers at local thrift stores.
Ferris resident, George Rebeles was shocked last month when he found a black and white Polaroid photo relating to John F. Kennedy’s fateful trip to Dallas.
He said he found the photo, with the date Nov. 22, 1963 written on it, inside an old Bachman Turner Overdrive CD he purchased.
Rebeles had been browsing through the City of Ferris’ local Soul’s Harbor thrift shop when he bought the CD. In fact, it wasn’t until about a month later that Rebeles even discovered the treasure inside.
Apparently an unpublished photo, it appears to be the JFK motorcade leaving Love Field airport the day JFK was shot in Dallas.
Rebeles said he has not decided whether to keep the photo or sell it to a collector. He also has no idea if the photo is worth money or will merely bring nostalgic value to a future buyer.
