FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than Books (January 26, 2023)

The Ferris Public Library will be holding a beginner’s computer class on Wednesday, February 1 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

We will begin with basic keyboard knowledge and then move on to the Internet.

Seating is limited, so you must pre-register for this class by calling the library at the phone number listed below. A Ferris Public Library membership is not required.

Library staff may be reached at ferrislibrary@ferristexas.gov or (972) 544-2110, Option 9.

NEW BOOKS: “Lucy by the Sea: Amgash Series” by Elizabeth Strout, “Clive Cussler’s Hellburner: Oregon Files Series” by Mike Maden, “Blowback” by James Patterson, “Sundown: Sky King Ranch” (LP) by Susan May Warren, “The Winners: Beartown #3” by Fredrik Backman, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing” (BIO) by Matthew Perry, and “Diana, William, and Harry” (Dewey 941) by James Patterson.

WORD OF THE WEEK: “Concentric” (kun-SEN-trik) means having the same center. A standard archery target has ten evenly spaced, concentric circles. The two center circles are yellow, followed by two red rings, two blue rings two black rings, and two white rings. Points are scored based on where the arrow lands. Ten extra points are earned when the arrow hits the center circle.
