RED OAK – The City of Red Oak Police Department will be hosting its Red Oak Night Against Crime this year on Oct. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m.
According to Red Oak Police, this is a free, family-friendly community-wide event and all residents are invited to the Red Oak Police Station that evening located at 547 Methodist Street.
A part of the bigger National Night Out event that has been taking place around the country since the first event in the 1970s, Texas PD’s have the choice of hosting the event in October instead of the regular August event date due to the Texas heat.
Red Oak Police will answer questions ranging from how much crime has increased in the city and what is being done about it, to offering tips for staying safe throughout the year.
There will also be opportunities to look inside some of the emergency vehicles, enjoy free refreshments, win prizes and giveaways, and connect with other member of the community.
Overall, the Red Oak PD Facebook page explained, “This event is all about strengthening the relationships between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.”
