WAXAHACHIE – Jocelyn King was unanimously approved by the Ellis County Commissioners Court to appoint her as the new permanent I.T. Director for Ellis County.
The appointment came after the former I.T. Director, Teral Crawford retired in mid-May.
King previously served under Crawford for many years as the Assistant I.T. Director.
I.T. employee Ed DeWees spoke at Commissioners Court in favor of the new appointment.
As court began, it was undetermined if King would be taking the role of interim I.T. Director or officially take that seat.
The decision was then made to accept King in the role permanently with Kyle Butler, pct. 4, making the motion and adding “I think there’s only one choice to consider.”
Commissioner Paul Perry, pct. 3, seconded the motion.
King said, “I am extremely grateful and excited about the opportunity to serve as the Director of IT for Ellis County.”
