WILMER – In a recent article in a Texas Economic Development Guide by Site Selection Magazine, the city of Wilmer was recognized for its outstanding growth along with the neighboring cities of Hutchins and Lancaster.
While the article noted Houston was a huge market for growth in 2022, it also reported that regarding National Logistic hubs the Dallas-Fort Worth area still topped the state with 187 projects.
“Judged by capital investment,” the article read “each of those two hot metros garnered three of the top 10 projects since January 2021.”
These projects were led by Walmart’s $420 million, 1000-job project in the DFW community of Wilmer.
No idea when the project will be in final stages and see completion, but change is certainly coming to the small community.
The entire area, with Lancaster included as well as Hutchins, will certainly help garner future growth.
Lancaster will also have its own Walmart facility footprint with a project creating 300 jobs in the future.
And, there is also Chick-Fil-A’s new $325 million, 400-job project coming to fruition in Hutchins.
In fact, it has been reported that in 2022 Dallas-Fort Worth has surpassed the market’s previous record high of under construction activity of 54-million square feet, which was the total at the end of 2021.
