Ferris senior Reese Francis, (5' 11", 215), did more than double duty in last week’s game against Quinlan Ford. Not only did he start as defensive end, he also had to change numbers and play guard late in the 4th quarter to replace an injured Hayden Hartman.
Reese is also a kicker, and executed a pooch kick that Quinlan fumbled and was recovered by Ferris’ Alan Garcia.
This is Reese’ second year playing football. He’s also a rugby player that has played at the national level with his club team, the Dallas Harlequins.
Reese says he enjoys football at Ferris because of the caring coaches and comradery with his teammates. When asked, Ferris coach Brandon Layne commented, “Reese has played well doing the job he is coached to do – with great effort – all season.”
