ENNIS – Theatre Rocks! has been thrilled to re-open theatre arts in Ellis County with its world premiere of “An Orphan’s Adventure” by H. Lee McMillion.
Directors at the theatre have been mindful of public concerns; audiences for the June 5-20 live performances have been limited.
The non-profit theatre, located at 505 NW Main St. in Ennis, also has been undergoing additional cleaning and directors have been taking measures to avoid crowding in the lobby.
And now, for a limited time, online viewing is available for this funny new play, which has something of a “Lord of the Rings” meets “Wizard of Oz” meets Monty Python attitude.
“We are always looking to serve our community and audience, and we are committed to being innovative and finding treasure in this moment,” said Theatre Rocks! executive director Suzanne Rhoten.
“Our online offering is a result of that.”
Also this month, artistic director Bill Rhoten’s play “Mojave” is being produced at The Core Theatre, 518 W. Arapaho Road in Richardson. The live performances run through June 28, but there are plans for a streaming option there, as well.
Live performance and online tickets for both shows are available at www.theatrerocks.com; tickets for “Mojave” may be purchased at www.thecoretheatre.org.
