WILMER – Trash, bulk and brush pick-up in Wilmer is getting an upgrade on June 29. Residents will now have a new cart service that includes twice a week pick-up for trash, once a month pick-up for bulk and brush waste on Wednesday.
“The City of Wilmer is excited about the new cart service with a change in trash, bulk and brush pick-up times and regularity,” said Wilmer City Administrator Rona Stringfellow.
“We are dedicated to making sure our solid waste providers Waste Management stay focused on the needs of our residents in Wilmer.”
For trash, residents should use their 96-gallon green cart with the green lid.
If you did not have a cart, Waste Management should have dropped one off to all residents earlier this week.
It is imperative all residents have a cart, because trash will only be picked up from inside the cart.
Residents can also add an additional cart to your household by contacting the City of Wilmer.
For residents requiring an extra cart, there will be a charge which will be added to your utility bill.
On collection day, leave your cart outside by 7 a.m. Be sure and leave it five feet from any obstructions, with the handle facing inward toward your home.
Leave brush, bulk, and waste at least five feet apart, and remember trash must be bagged inside the cart and the lid securely closed.
“As always, we look forward to hearing from residents and businesses anytime to discuss better service suggestions when necessary,” Stringfellow concluded.
“The city staff always wants to assure the city is making the most of taxpayers’ dollars and receiving great service from our solid waste provider.”
