RED OAK – The Red Oak Police identified Dallas resident Dequindrick Nelson, 29, as the suspect in last week’s burglary at the Exxon Whistle Stop in the 500 block of N. State Highway 342.
An arrest warrant was issued after Red Oak Police obtained surveillance video showing an unidentified black male making forced entry into the store in the early morning hours.
Nelson was wearing a blue hat, blue hoodie, black shorts and appeared to be around 250 to 265 lbs. and between 6' to 6'3".
Physical evidence at the scene was collected, and the owner of the Exxon Whistle Stop informed police the suspect had taken cash and lottery tickets from the business during the burglary.
Red Oak Police worked alongside the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office to identify and detain Nelson. He was arrested on Feb. 14 at his home in Dallas on the Red Oak warrant.
Nelson was taken to the Red Oak city jail for the burglary charges as well as several other outstanding warrants.
