Junior quarterback Joshua Ervin passed for 177 yards and two touchdowns as Red Oak rolled to a lopsided 63-6 win over Spruce at Dragon Stadium.
Sophomore Elijah Shaw intercepted two Spruce passes and returned both for touchdowns in the first half.
Red Oak (8-1, 6-0 in 6-5A Div. II) marched 71 yards on the first series and went ahead 7-0 when C.J. Palmer scored on a 6-yard run. Shaw’s first interception occurred on the next play from scrimmage.
Ameer Muhammad picked up a Spruce fumble on the very next series and returned it 60 yards to make it 21-0 with7:50remaininginthefirstquarter.
The Hawk defense held Spruce (3-6, 2-4 in 6-5A Div. II) to minus-10 yards rushing.
