WAXAHACHIE – A 14-year-old male died Monday afternoon in a go-cart accident in the 200 block of Becky Lane.
Multiple emergency responders were called to the scene of the major accident in the northern part of Waxahachie at around 12:50 p.m.
The youth’s name has been withheld, but DPS confirmed the juvenile died when his go-cart crashed off a residential road.
At the time of the crash the go-cart went airborne while heading westbound on Becky Lane.
A preliminary investigation revealed the go-cart left the roadway, hit a culvert. When the go-cart hit the culvert, it went airborne and landed on top of the 14-year-old boy.
The juvenile was taken to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Waxahachie where he died from his injuries.
DPS did reveal the boy was a resident of Waxahachie.
No other details have been released at this time. DPS is still investigating the accident.
