Where else but the great gathering of players, parents and fans who braved Saturday’s cold, rainy – downright miserable weather to celebrate the Ferris Baseball Softball Association’s 2019 Opening Day ceremony.
The much anticipated highlight of the event was the introduction of the 17 teams and their rosters.
After a team was introduced, its individual roster was announced. With the crowd cheering, each player scampered down the third base line to home plate, pivoted (the slick conditions made the move iffy for some), then hustled down the first base line for a celebratory hand slap from a greeting line composed of Ferris High School baseball and softball team members.
