PALMER – Commercial State Bank Palmer, with branches in Ferris and Wilmer, announced the promotion of Executive Vice President Chad R. Newsom to President effective Jan. 1, 2019.
A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, he spent nine years in the field of education before joining Commercial State Bank in 2006.
A veteran banker, Newsom has served as an executive vice-president, senior loan officer, informational technology coordinator and is currently vice-chairman of the board of directors and vice-president/ treasurer for the Bank’s holding company, Palmer Bancshares, Inc.
Newsom continuously serves his community by serving on both the Palmer Economic Development Committee and Ferris Economic Development Committee.
His free time is spent with his wife and two daughters managing their horse business, Sunset Acres, and he is an avid outdoorsman.
