ELLIS COUNTY – The Ellis County voter turnout for the May 6 was an embarrassing 14.50%. With 128,865 registered voters in Ellis County, only 18,689 voters thought it was necessary to get out and support our country’s freedom to take part in the election process.

ENNIS – A 38-year-old local woman died earlier this week when she exited a moving vehicle in the 900 block of South Clay in Ennis.Ennis Police revealed they are still unsure of the cause of the woman exiting the vehicle.

RED OAK – Red Oak Police and Fire Rescue were called to a motor vehicle accident early last week in the 400 block of South Interstate Highway 35E Service Road at around 10:45 p.m. The accident involved a juvenile female, who had been struck by a Gray 2007 Hummer H3.

Legislative bill would limit auto inspections

AUSTIN – A bill considered a victory by drivers dreading taking their vehicle in for its annual safety inspection, was recently passed Texas lawmakers,  but those living in areas such as Dallas-Fort Worth will still have to make an annual trip to the mechanic and pay a yearly fee.
