Man convicted for killing friend with a hammer

WAXAHACHIE – Trenton Adams, 31, of Avalon, was convicted of capital murder by a jury and sentenced to life in prison without parole.Ellis County and District Attorney Ann Montgomery announced the verdict this week.
Cade Nolen of Waxahachie, a member of Ellis County 4-H, caught a calf during the 2024 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo’s Calf Scramble, earning a $500 purchase certificate for a show heifer and the chance for up to $16,000 in scholarship awards. Nolen’s award was sponsored by ValleyView Energy LLC.

WAXAHACHIE – The Ellis County Republican Women Candidate Forum on Jan. 25 will not be broadcast on KBEC as previously announced. KBEC said their broadcast unit has been damaged and won’t be repaired in time for the forum.Ken Roberts will still be facilitating the event.
