ROISD Board approves raises for the 2024-2025 school year

RED OAK – At a time when many area districts are closing schools, reducing staff, or not giving raises, Red Oak ISD continues to prioritize people by providing staff with increased pay for next year.On May 13, the School Board approved staff raises for the 2024-2025 school year.

Original Art Annual Sale set for May 25

WAXAHACHIE – Original artwork by artists as far away as the Netherlands and as close as Ellis County will be for sale to the public May 25 at The Hamilton at Garden Valley in Waxahachie. Artwork can be viewed on May 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Two run-off elections set for May and June

ELLIS COUNTY – Two run-off elections are coming up, the first for the District Judge 443rd seat is May 28th.Candidate’s Greg Wilhelm and Grace Pandithurai will face one another in primary run-off with early voting beginning Monday, May 20 to May 24.

Commissioners approve Datacenter tax abatement

ELLIS COUNTY – The Ellis County Commissioners approved a 75% for seven years/100% for seven years on personal property tax abatement with Databank Datacenters, LLC in a unanimous vote at the most recent Commissioner’s Court meeting.

Ellis County Court House set for slight facelift

ELLIS COUNTY – The Ellis County Commissioners Court approved a resolution unanimously to apply for a Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program for emergency repairs to the historic Ellis County Courthouse.
