Students in Red Oak ISD making an IMPACT

A student group called IMPACT is working to positively promote ROISD students who are staying substance-free.

RO Chamber names Clinton B. Woodward new president

RED OAK – Clinton B. Woodward III, will serve as the new president of the Red Oak area Chamber of Commerce.
He earned an MBA in Strategic Management from Western Governor’s University, and a BS in Hotel/Restaurant/Tourism Management from New Mexico State University.

Jade Flores gets a warm welcome from fans when she taped a segment for ECP-TV. Flores, from Red Oak, got the green light to Hollywood on “American Idol.” Interviewed in front of the gazebo in town square in Ferris, she pleased the crowd with a rendition of “Folsom Prison Blues” by Johnny Cash.

Joe Chapman, ‘Mr. Ferris,’ passes away at 91

FERRIS – Ferris lost one of its most beloved civic leaders – and its last living World War II veteran last week, when Joe Chapman, with his son and daughter-in-law by his side, passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 13.
Joseph Harlan “Joe” Chapman was born May 14, 1927, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Eve Smith wrestles for a club called Moya out of Oak Cliff. She is a sixth grader at Walnut Grove Middle School in Midlothian. This year she won state titles at the rookie level the novice level and the open level.
