May 4 elections see changing of the guard

ELLIS COUNTY – The winds of political changed swept across Ellis County Saturday as 108,324 registered voters took to the polls. This past weekend’s election saw only 14,164 voters turn out or 13.08-percent.

FERRIS – At the Monday, May 6 Ferris City Council meeting, Ferris Police Chief Eddie Salazar presented a life-saving award to Ferris Officer Christian Cortez for his quick response and thinking when Cortez responded to a call for assistance from an Ellis County Constable.

Wilmer ISD welcomes new elementary school next year

WILMER – With three public schools and one charter school in the Wilmer-Hutchins school district, there will soon be one more. “The Board approved last Thursday the contractor for the New Wilmer Elementary School,” Wilmer Mayor Emmanuel Wealthy-Williams said.

Ferris PD welcomes four new officers

Ferris Chief of Police Eddie Salazar introduced four new officers to the city council Monday night. The Ferris Police Department provides 24-hour police service within the incorporated city limits of Ferris, Texas.
