ECU Powerlifting Team dominates at winter games

AUSTIN – After a successful outing at the North Texas Region Powerlifting meet held at Dissent Athletics in Ft. Worth on Feb. 4, the Ellis County United Powerlifting Team traveled to Austin to compete in the Texas Special Olympics Winter Games on Feb. 18.

ENNIS MURDER SUSPECT CAPTURED IN MEXICO

ENNIS – It is a murder case police in Ennis and the Ellis County Sheriff’s Department did not allow to go cold.Ennis Police said Jennifer Samantha Puente, 29, of Ennis was recently captured and arrested in Mexico, and has been extradited to the United States.

Waxahachie ISD calls bond election

WAXAHACHIE – The Waxahachie ISD Board of Trustees voted 7-0 to call a bond election in the upcoming election.There are four propositions, which voters will be asked to vote on May 6.

DISTEMPER FOUND IN RACCOONS IN GLENN HEIGHTS

GLENN HEIGHTS – Animal shelter officials in the city of Glenn Heights, which sits in both Ellis and Dallas County recently secured a number of raccoons that tested positive for distemper.The animals were found along the Glenn Heights and Lancaster city border.
