WILMER – A premier provider of trucking, intermodal and logistics services, Schneider opened its new operating center in Wilmer earlier this month with an open house and hiring event.

The company’s new facility is designed to enhance the driver experience, including in-demand amenities, industry-leading maintenance capabilities and plenty of room to grow.

“The city of Wilmer and the DFW metroplex are fortunate to have Schneider in the region,” said Dr. John Hubbard, Economic Development Corporation Executive Director.

“Their state-of-the-art facility is second to none. I expect Schneider to have a big impact on the DFW economy.”

The new facility is located in the 1200 block of E. Pleasant Run Road, perfectly situated on the Interstates 45 and 20 corridors.

“This new facility represents a significant investment for our enterprise – about $23 million – and we consider it a direct investment in Schneider associates and customers,” said Dave Geyer, Schneider’s executive vice president and group president of transportation and logistics.

“The demands our customers face in providing timely and cost-effective movement of products through their supply chain is dependent upon having strong partners like Schneider to support them. This facility is a representation of our commitment to provide the reliability and amount of support they need.”

Schneider’s new Dallas facility will be home to a 14,000-square-foot driver services building featuring expanded tractor and trailer parking, a driver business center, driver video and quiet lounge with power charging stations, exercise equipment and workout space, free laundry and shower services, a full-service café with seating options for powering personal and business-related hand-held devices, a wi-fi enabled yard, company retail store and onsite training simulators.

There is also a 47,000-square-foot maintenance building, which supports professional services that ensure drivers can quickly – and safely – get back on the road. The maintenance building includes 10 tractor bays, five trailer bays, three express bays, two preventative maintenance pits and a 6,700-squarefoot room for tractor and trailer parts.

“It’s an honor to provide opportunities that elevate our drivers’ experiences by supporting their safety, comfort and performance with this new operating center,” Geyer said.

Schneider’s solutions include regional and long-haul truckload, expedited, dedicated, bulk, intermodal, brokerage, warehousing, supply chain management and port logistics.
