ELLIS COUNTY – Judge Greg Wilhelm was officially sworn in last week and is now serving as judge of the county’s new 504th District Court.

Wilhem was sworn in at the Midlothian Conference Center alongside his wife, Monica Wilhelm.

“Last night was a milestone I will never forget,” Wilhelm said. “Standing before my family, friends, and neighbors.”

He described taking the oath of office as a “profound honor” while also personally thanking “everyone who joined us for the judicial investiture ceremony.”

“Your presence and support mean the world to me as I begin this journey.”

Wilhelm added, “Having been vetted and appointed by Governor Greg Abbott, I am ready to spend every day on this bench delivering justice, protecting our families, and upholding the original intent of our Constitution.

“While there is an election ahead of us in March, my work for you starts right now.

“I am committed to running an efficient, fair, and orderly court that prioritizes victims and holds offenders accountable.”

The new judge also offered a special recognition to the Honorable Texas Supreme Court Justice James Sullivan for his attendance and participation in the ceremony.
