Body

ELLIS COUNTY – Veterans throughout Ellis County will be honored with several ceremonies honoring their sacrifices. Veterans Day is an official United States federal holiday, which is observed every year on Nov. 11, to honor military veterans – those who served – and are serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. Veterans Day is also well-known as Armistice Day. Veterans Day should not be confused with Memorial Day and Armed Forces Day. Veterans Day is the day celebrating the service of all United States Military Veterans, whereas Memorial Day honors those who died in military service. Armed Forces Day honors to those who are currently serving in the United States Military services. All these holidays are celebrated in other countries that mark the anniversary of the end of World War I.
