PALMER – Palmer officials reported TxDOT has approved moving forward with plans for a stoplight at the city’s three-way stop, along with adding additional turn lanes.
“This is a lengthy process, as this process will start in three years, but it should significantly help alleviate traffic congestion once finished.”
Beginning earlier this week on Jan. 5, TxDOT began construction on the “narrow bridge” on Highway 878 in the direction of Waxahachie.
“The bridge will be widened to improve safety and traffic flow.”
Other projects include the Dallas Street water line upgrade and the Denton Street sewer line replacement, which have both been completed.
The Kinsala Street and Cooper Street asphalt project has also been completed as has the gazebo renovation.
The city’s gazebo renovation improvements included resurfacing the parking lot, painting and cleaning the gazebo, and repainting the metal rails behind the gazebo.
Pothole repair rotation did not meet the city’s expectations and a new plan is being put into place to be fully implemented by the end of January.
