WAXAHACHIE – The Waxahachie City Council has made it official.
After serving as the interim city manager in Waxahachie since July 2025, Rick Boyd was officially appointed to the position at last week’s Waxahachie City Council meeting.
Boyd was assigned the interim city manager position after Michael Scott, who had been with the city 22 years, was removed in July.
Before taking the interim role with the city, Boyd served as the Waxahachie Fire Chief from November 2012 until July 2025.
“I have greatly enjoyed serving the public for over 41 years,” Boyd said after his official appointment to the new job.
“This position gives me the opportunity to continue to serve the public on a much bigger scale.”
“Public safety will always be my number one priority” Boyd concluded.
