RED OAK – Several different community groups, including Red Oak ISD staff, handed out over 200 bags of food to residents on Mar. 18 and 19.
Spearheaded by ROISD’s Donna Knight and Jared Douglas, Pastor, First Baptist Church Red Oak, numerous volunteers secured donations of food and supplies from local businesses.
The event was staged at First Baptist Church in Red Oak, where unselfish volunteers gathered to fill bags, stock tables and deliver bags of food as residents drove up in their vehicles. Prayer requests were taken, and curb side prayers were also held as people waited their turn in line.
Donna Knight voiced her appreciation, thanking “Walmart, Brookshires, Ovilla Church of Christ, First Baptist Red Oak, Faith Fellowship church, Red Oak ISD, and many others who were involved with this project.”
