RED OAK – Red Oak City Council recognized Motorcycle Awareness Month during its most recent city council meeting.

Red Oak Police Department pointed out on average, there is one motorcyclist who dies in a crash on Texas roads every day.

The reason: drivers do not see the motorcycle or misjudge its distance and speed.

With summer season approaching, it is a suitable time to increase safety awareness and safety measures for both vehicle drivers and motorcycle riders.

Red Oak Mayor Mark Stanfill said, “You guys are hard to see, but we want to make sure you are safe.

“I encourage our community become aware of the inherent dangers of operating a motorcycle and give the operators the respect of the road they deserve and to remember to share the road and look twice for motorcycles.”
