OVILLA – The City of Ovilla will light its Christmas tree on Thursday, Dec. 5.
The Annual Christmas Tree Lighting will begin at 6 p.m. at Heritage Park, 675 W. Main Street.
The Ovilla Christmas Tree Lighting has been taking place for over 20 years, and this year the city acquired a new 24-foot Christmas tree to continue the tradition.
Attendees can expect cookies and hot chocolate hosted by the city’s Service League.
There will be musicians performing live Christmas music, and a special reading to share the true meaning of Christmas with everyone.
For the children, they can mail their letters to Santa at Ovilla’s North Pole mailbox, and Santa Claus will also be making an appearance for photos with the kids.
On Monday, Dec. 9, there will be a Blood Drive in the Police Department parking lot and the Ovilla Police Department Annual Holiday Toy Drive goes through Dec. 17.
