OVILLA – Ovilla city officials are asking for resident input regarding the city’s Comprehensive Plan currently underway developing a Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Plan.
“A key component of this process is meaningful citizen engagement to help ensure the City Council understands the recreational priorities, needs, and vision of the community,” a city Facebook post stated.
Officials would like resident’s input regarding potential park improvements, recreational amenities, trails, open space opportunities, and other features citizens would like to see both now and in the future.
Residents can complete the Ovilla Parks Survey at https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/8846033/Ovilla-Park-Survey. Deadline is July 3.
Ovilla will also be hosting two date undecided town hall meetings in the future. The meetings will provide residents with additional opportunities to share ideas, ask questions, and participate in discussions regarding the future of parks and recreation in Ovilla.
Overall, through the combined efforts of the City, the Type B Economic Development Corporation, and the Municipal Development District, numerous projects have been completed to expand amenities and create more enjoyable outdoor experiences for the community.
These collaborative investments have strengthened the parks as important assets that contribute to quality of life in Ovilla.
Looking ahead, all three entities have included funding for additional park improvements to ensure Ovilla parks remain welcoming, attractive, and a well-maintained destination for residents of all ages.
