MIDLOTHIAN – The new Midlothian tax office is now open at its new address: 661 Aspen Parkway, Suite 100 in Midlothian.

While there is still no signage on the face of the building indicating the new location, the ribbon cutting will be held soon according to Ellis County Judge Todd Little.

Richard Rozier, Ellis County Tax Accessor/Collector sent a member of his staff to update the Commissioners Court, all in attendance other than Lane Grayson who said the plan has been to open the office June 3.

While it was “a tight window” staff said, “It is open.”

The new Midlothian Tax office has more space for customers from 15 seats in the lobby to 25 seats now.

There is also a new queuing system, which it was said “helps to manage the high amount of traffic in the Midlothian office.

In the past customers have had to wait outside even in the cold and rain.”

The new queuing system is currently not working correctly, possibly due to the recent storm that resulted in electrical outages, but it is expected to be functioning properly again soon.

Little said he believed the Midlothian Tax office is the second busiest in the county.
