MIDLOTHIAN – For those drivers on US Highway 287 be mindful of the safety improvements being made that highway at exit ramp at FM 663.
The work began on July 18, at the southwest corner of FM 663 and Highway 287.
This is in order to prepare TxDOT’s modification of the intersection in order to provide a planned dual right-turn lane on the exit ramp from southbound US Highway 287 at FM 663.
This project is being undertaken to relieve congestion on the southbound Highway 287 off ramp.
A press release stated, “The immediate impact to citizens is that the current sidewalk on the west side of FM 663 will terminate at the QT property Crossing for pedestrians for FM 663 will begin at the Harvest Hill Road intersection.
“The controlled pedestrian crossing will no longer be available at Highway 287 and FM 663 intersection for the western and eastern ramps.
“Southern and northern pedestrian crossings will remain the same.”
