MIDLOTHIAN – The Ellis County District Attorney’s Office has reported the grand jury finished its investigation last week and did not issue criminal charges involving one of the two teachers involved in an abuse case last month involving a special education student.
The student was from McClatchey Elementary School in Midlothian, and had reportedly come home with bruises after being pushed to the ground.
The autistic boy’s mother filed a police report, and Midlothian police did investigate the incident.
Midlothian ISD placed two staff members assigned to the classroom on administrative leave due to the allegations.
The student’s mother has indicated her son is receiving instruction at home and is afraid to send him back to school.
Midlothian ISD did not comment by press time, and it is unclear if the teacher who was cleared will return to work.
