MIDLOTHIAN – Midlothian Police are asking the public for their help with the apprehension of the individual who fatally shot 25-year-old Choyce Redmon of Midlothian on the evening of March 5.

The incident occurred at 8:56 p.m., in the 500 block of Chelsea Drive.

Midlothian patrol officers responded to a call to investigate a reported shooting.

Telecommunicators from the North Ellis Emergency Dispatch Center were told by a caller that a male had been shot inside the residence. 

When officers arrived, they found Redmon unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds.

He was transported by Midlothian Fire Department medics to Midlothian Methodist Hospital where he was declared deceased

Investigators believe this was a targeted, deadly assault. They are investigating the case as a homicide. 

Police stated in a media release, “Witnesses reported a dark-colored (possibly black) luxury sedan driving from the scene of the crime. The vehicle possibly drove from Chelsea Drive then north on Westminster Drive.

“The Midlothian Police Department continues to actively investigate a fatal shooting that occurred on the evening of March 5, 2024.

“We are urging the public to come forward with any information that may help identify a suspect.”
