FERRIS – Whether you are ready or not, Halloween marks the beginning of the holiday season – which means we are already well into it.
Local Ellis County churches, companies and community groups are also gearing up for the holiday with toy drives, food drives, parties and galas.
Loujeanne Guye, M.Div. of Loujeanne Guye Ministries (LGM) said they will be hosting an event at Covenant Church in Ferris. Guye said you don’t want to miss this Community Christmas Gala on Dec. 7 from 6 to 8 p.m.
“In regard to the holidays, it is a Christmas Gala celebrating our Savior, Jesus Christ’s birth,” Guye added.
The entire community is invited – and it’s free.
LGM hosts Conferences over the DFW metroplex. Annually, the group hosts the annual Christmas gala in DeSoto.
“This is for the LGM Team to express our appreciation to DeSoto for their selfless service they render unto the Lord and hard work with Loujeanne Guye Ministries,” Guye said.
This year, they decided to expand the good cheer.
LGM has been in ministry since 1999. This year is the first year as a member of the Ferris Unity in the Community organization and Guye said, at the request of former Ferris Police Chief Eddie Salazar who founded Ferris’ Unity in the Community organization, he asked LGM to share the spirit of Christmas with the Ferris community.
“It is out pleasure,” Guye said adding, “The community can expect to share in the spirit of Christmas, food and fellowship.”
Loujeanne Guye Ministries (LGM) is a 501 (c)
