ALMA – Alma Police assisted the Corsicana, Ennis and Rice Police Departments, Navarro County Sheriff’s Department and Ellis County agencies on Thursday, Jan. 29 in the search for a stolen vehicle out of Corsicana.
The vehicle was located on I-45, at which time Rice and Alma PD initiated a traffic stop.
The vehicle fled, and one of the occupants threw a 9 mm pistol out of the window.
A pursuit ensued by Rice and Alma PD’s, with Corsicana PD acting as backup. Tire deflation devices were used, but even after one tire was flattened the suspect continued to flee southbound in the vehicle.
During the pursuit, one of the suspects jumped from the moving vehicle. Alma and Corsicana Police officers immediately stopped to render aid to the suspect who jumped from the car, and an ambulance was called for medical assistance.
The vehicle finally came to a stop, at which time Rice and Corsicana PD conducted a felony stop.
A 17-year-old driver was arrested and taken to the Navarro County Jail.
