WAXAHACHIE – Joseph R. (Joe) Gallo announced intention to file his candidacy for Judge of the Ellis County Court at Law No. 3, seeking the Republican Party nomination in the March primary election.
“Professionally, through my education, and in community volunteer work, I have been preparing for this role my entire life,” Gallo said.
The new judicial position, created during the past Texas legislative session, will be tasked to handle misdemeanor criminal cases.
Gallo says his experience sets him apart as uniquely qualified for the position.
“In college, I majored in criminal justice. At Baylor School of Law, I graduated with an academic concentration in criminal law.
“I have served as both a Navarro County Assistant Criminal District Attorney and as an Ellis County Assistant District Attorney.
“My private practice has been exclusively committed to criminal law. I have criminal jury trial experience at all criminal punishment ranges – from simple misdemeanors to capital murder.
“And, as Judge for the City of Waxahachie, I have a proven track record for being professional, efficient, and balanced.”
His primary goal will be to establish a courtroom in which everyone can be confident they will receive a fair trial, according to Gallo. He plans to help reduce the existing backlog of pending criminal cases, adhering to a very strict professional standard and superior time management skills.
Gallo has been an active member of the community, having been elected as a council member for the City of Waxahachie, served as the board chair of the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce, as well as served on the board of the City of Waxahachie’s Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone.
“With the background of a very successful twenty-three-year legal career, I have now set my sights on a new avenue of service to the community: to serve as your new Ellis County Court at Law #3 Judge,” Gallo said.
“Justice is my passion, and I am uniquely qualified for this judicial position.”
