FERRIS – Ferris ISD now qualifies for Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), according to Gay Clark, Ferris ISD Food Service Director.

“This program is a great benefit to all of our students and families attending Ferris ISD,” said Clark.

Community Eligibility Provision

CEP means every student enrolled at FISD will receive a Free breakfast and a Free lunch each day.

How is this possible?

USDA and TDA have added students who receive Medicaid to our list of those who receive SNAP, TANF, FDPIR, Homeless and Migrant. By adding Medicaid our number of free students grew, allowing us to move to CEP.

What does this mean to you and your student?

1. No applications will have to be completed.

2. No student will need to charge meals.

3. No student will receive the alternate tray.

What do you need to do?

Cancel all automatic payments set up through My-SchoolBucks.com .

This web site shut down in July to allow everyone time to cancel automatic payments. It will reopened in August.

What about money left in my students account?

Each campus will continue to sell extra items, pizza, milk and yeast rolls. Your student may use their money for these items.

Can I deposit money into my students account for extras?

Yes, you can. Your students’ lunch accounts will continue to move to each campus as your student moves. Account money will be available for those extra purchases.

My student is a graduating senior. What happens to their money?

Do you have other students in the district? If so we can easily move that money. Just let us know how you prefer to handle it.

“CEP will allow our staff to serve each student without the worry of money because a hungry student cannot learn,” said Clark.
