On Feb. 8, the Ferris High School Cadet Police Academy (FHSPA) competed at the 2019-2020 TPSA (Texas Public Service Association Northeast) Regional Conference in Rockwall.
Ferris took eight students – six as competitors and two as volunteers. They competed in three events: Traffic Stop, Female and Male Agility Course, and Report Writing, placing in two of those – Traffic Stop and Female Agility Course.
The competition team consisted of Vanessa Guevarra, Colman Flores, Taylor Peters, Lili Garcia, Braydon Smith and Elise Rachel.
The volunteers were Emilie Alfaro and Katie Schell.
Of the students, Lili Garcia took 1st place in Female Agility Course, and Taylor Peters took 3rd in traffic stop.
Both have qualified for the state competition.
