Bardwell’s next City Council meeting will be held on Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. at City Hall. Anyone wishing to speak at the meeting must call the office at least five business days before the meeting and ask the City Secretary to add it to the agenda.

FERRIS
The City of Ferris is launching a new animal care campus through a public private partnership with Flying B Animal Rescue and Sanctuary to expand local animal sheltering, strengthen rescue capacity, and bring veterinary care on site for both shelter animals and the public.
The campus will be located on a five acre site near Interstate 45 and Loop 9 and will be approximately 5000-sq. ft., designed to support both animal shelter operations and veterinary services.

Midlothian offers residents a list of upcoming garage sales in the city each week on the city’s Facebook page. There will be an estate sale held at 3111 N. Walnut Grove from Thursday, Jan. 29 to Saturday, Jan. 31. Thursday’s time is TBD; Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Milford Police will hold a Town Hall meeting, Wednesday, Jan. 21 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Milford Community Center, 109 S. Main, Milford.
OVILLA
Ovilla recognized several outstanding employees at its last council meeting. Firefighter-Paramedic Cesar Monsivais received the Firefighter of the Year Award; Paramedic Specialist Bailey Ables was unable to make the meeting, but was honored as Paramedic of the Year; Paramedic Specialist Ashley Tupper was presented a Certificate of Achievement for completing the fire academy, earning her state firefighter certification, and successfully passing the Ovilla Fire Department firefighter testing; and Finance Clerk Talesha Marckwardt received an Academic Achievement Award for earning both her Bachelor’s Degree and Master of Business Administration (MBA) while working full-time for the City.
