The Ennis Fire Department welcomed a new apparatus to its fleet early last week.

The E-193 Pushback Ceremony took place at Fire Station Three on Country Club Road. A Facebook post highlighting the event thanked those in attendance and read, “Together we welcomed a new apparatus to our fleet to allow the Ennis Fire Department to continue to protect life and property in our community.”

Apparatus pushback ceremonies are a long-held tradition that date back to the days of horse-drawn equipment. At that time, the push-back ceremony was necessary so members could push the equipment into the bay.
